Hosting a teenager from another country can be an enriching family experience. Our students come from different regions of France and are united by their desire to communicate and learn. The hospitality that you offer will provide them with an invaluable gift - the opportunity to experience the American way of life from the family perspective.
A Great Experience
Our students come to the United States to practice their English, make friends, and experience life in America. They do not expect a tour (although excursions to your local attractions would be of great interest). Our host families are volunteer and your role is to welcome your exchange student into your home as a member of your family by providing bed, board, and loving companionship.
FACES Exchange Students
Have studied English for a number of years
Are expected to pay their way for outings
Are prepared to help with occasional household tasks
Have attended an orientation meeting in their home country
Have medical, liability and emergency return insurance
FACES Host Families
Are open-minded and welcoming
Speak only English at home
Are not already hosting an exchange student
Possess an interest in learning about other cultures and ideas
Will include the student in their family life and daily routines
Have a spare bed and offer full board (lunchbox)
Are of many ages and backgrounds.
